Position - Professional Services Director

Job Description:

The position is primarily one of a senior business consultant of fee-based ERP software within a manufacturing environment. Has overall responsibility for the successful completion of implementation/upgrade of software in client facility. Projects may range from small to large clients, single product to enterprise, and single site to multiple location environments. In managing senior application consultants or dealing with customers directly, expertise and work efforts are focused on the analysis of the interaction of the Friedman software solution with the customer’s business goals, objectives and needs. Duties are usually performed at the customer’s site. The position operates under minimal supervision on small to large sized projects involving multiple Friedman and relevant third party integrated products. The position reports to Vice- President, Professional Services. The position may also be involved in pre-sales and development activities. Manages project scope and develops project plan, defining/documenting resources and requirements, project charter, milestones and metrics using COMPASS methodology, along with the customer’s contractual agreement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages project scope and develops project plan, defining/documenting resources and requirements, project charter, milestones and metrics using COMPASS methodology, along with the customer’s contractual agreement
  • Ability to analyze the client current business practices and make recommendations towards using the existing software functionality
  • Able to tactfully address difficult issues with the client without disturbing the client/vendor relationship
  • Provide direction and project leadership to client teams regarding industry best practices utilizing Friedman software
  • Develop strong client relationships while ‘selling’ consulting/technical services
  • Train, mentor and manage several staff at various levels throughout multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Provide input on strategic planning, priorities, design documents and testing plans
  • Complete customer satisfaction and relationship management of clients

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years related ERP business or applications experience
  • Minimum of 5 years consulting or implementation experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent education/experience
  • Understanding of contract billing, service billing and project costing
  • Proven presentation, documentation, negotiation, communication and time management skills
  • Advanced education and/or professional certifications/designations desirable
