The Frontier Material Optimization and Staging application has
been designed for organizations that manufacture finished goods
from lineal or panel stock raw materials on a production run basis.
The optimization functionality within this module is based on established
interfaces to several leading optimization packages, which are
designed to generate an optimal cutting plan based on raw material
constraints and the required component cut sizes. The staging logic
is based on user-defined material handling constraints to locate
cut component parts together for transition to subsequent production
or assembly operations.
Frontier Material Optimization and Staging Supports:
- Automatic generation of user-defined component cut files based
on the component product line, the released production run
and pre-defined configuration code logic
- Integration with several leading optimization packages,
including ARDIS, LinealMate and GED, to generate an optimal cut
plan
and required materials list based on the established constraints
- Table based definition of available material handling
devices for a given component product line, supporting single
or 2-tier
definitions of available storage space
- Automatic generation of cart/slot identifications,
establishing the relationship between component cut parts and
the
defined material handling devices
