The Frontier Material Planning applications provide the flexibility
to support multiple planning methodologies based on an organization’s
business model and requirements. The Frontier® ERP System supports
Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirements Planning
(MRP), Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP), Re-Order Point
(ROP) and Kan-Ban based material planning. The definition of how
a particular product will be planned is defined at the product
and plant/warehouse level, allowing flexibility across product
lines and business operations.
Frontier Material Planning Supports:
- An integrated, independent Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
application, supporting:
• Multiple execution options, including Net Change,
Regenerative and Selected Products modes
• Option to process MPS against a single plant or across all
plants simultaneously
• User-defined planning horizons and buckets for viewing supply
and demand
• Flexible planning and demand time fences to define when a schedule
is frozen and how to process sales forecasts versus actual orders
• On-line visibility of summarized Master Schedule, with integrated
drill-down into detailed supply and demand information
• Integrated with Frontier Capacity Planning to take into account
capacity constraints
• Automatic generation of suggested purchase, production and
transfer orders
- An integrated Material Requirements Planning
(MRP) and Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) application,
supporting:
• Multiple execution options, including Net Change, Regenerative
and Selected Products modes
• Option to process MRP/DRP against a single plant/warehouse
or across all plants/warehouses simultaneously
• User-defined planning horizons with default daily planning
buckets
• Option to
feed sales forecasts directly into MRP planning
programs if MPS processing is not being utilized
• On-line review and processing of MRP/DRP suggested action messages
with integrated access to all required inventory, production
and purchasing information
• Integrated with Frontier Capacity Planning to take into account
capacity constraints
• Automatic generation of suggested purchase, production and
transfer orders
- An integrated Re-Order Point (ROP) application,
supporting:
• Automatic calculation of suggested reorder points, maintained
at a product and plant/warehouse level
• Automatic generation of suggested purchase orders based on
reorder and/or line points established for a given product and
plant/warehouse
- Workorderless, KanBan processing of
material supply and demand based on standard
lot sizes and just-in-time
production philosophies
