Partners to Offer Open, e-business
on demand Solutions
Deerfield, IL, November 14, 2003 -- Friedman Corporation,
an enterprise resource planning company, which provides
computing solutions for the discrete To-Order Manufacturer,
has joined IBM’s ISV Advantage Initiative, a program
designed to provide independent software vendors (ISVs)
with technical and marketing support to help meet the
specific information technology (IT) needs of small and
medium business (SMB) companies. Customers are seeking
solutions that help them better integrate processes and
applications internally and externally and allow them
to quickly respond to changing market opportunities on
demand.
The Frontier iProducts suite of application modules
has been designed to support an organization’s
customer service functions over the Internet. The iProducts
modules are fully integrated into the Frontier® ERP
system, which provides the internal customer direct accessibility
to the sales, pricing, product configuration, accounting
& finance, scheduling and inventory control facets
their businesses.
Enabling Frontier iProducts eBusiness solution on IBM’s
WebSphere platform will help Friedman Corporation expand
into the SMB market faster and more effectively than
is possible with proprietary platforms.
“The biggest issue for SMB customers is that they
can’t afford a lot of IT staff,” says Friedman’s
President Craig Yamauchi. “Leveraging the size
of IBM [as a result of the ISV programs], by bringing
IBM’s technical skills to joint customers provides
us the ability to deploy our Frontier solutions to our
niche of SMB customers.”
The IBM WebSphere family includes products that are
designed and priced specifically for small and medium
businesses -- easy to install and manage, scalable to
grow with a business, rich in functionality, and based
on open standards to allow integration with existing
software and hardware platforms.
Friedman Corporation will also work closely with IBM
to expand its visibility in target vertical industries
through various co-marketing and sales activities.
ISV Advantage is administered by PartnerWorld for Developers,
the developer resource for IBM Business Partners. It
is a worldwide program designed to help software developers
reach broader markets, lower their costs of doing business,
and take their products to market faster. For more information,
