17th Annual Friedman Users Group Conference

DEERFIELD, IL, June 20, 2005 - Friedman Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise solutions for the to-order manufacturers, recently gathered together manufacturers across the country at its annual flagship customer event, Friedman Users Group Conference.   This year’s conference, held on May 16-19 in Chicago, was marked by a significant increase in attendance levels.   The event attracted attendees from a wide range of the Friedman User community for the purpose of sharing best practices from one another and to learn ways to leverage Friedman solution to continue to achieve success in their manufacturing environments.

The annual event kicked off Monday evening with a welcome reception.   Mike Cornwell, chairman of the User Group Board, and Craig Yamauchi, president of Friedman, took the stage on Tuesday morning to formally welcome the attendees and gave a state of the business address.  

During the three-day event, attendees had the opportunity to hear first-hand about real-world customer experiences with Frontier, as well as to learn about the latest product updates from Friedman and its partners exhibiting at the event.  

This year, Industry hot topics, such as Lean Manufacturing and competing in an "Global" environment were the sessions that were "must attends." Great client case studies from Canyon Creek Cabinet Company, Neff Motivations, Apache Hose & Belting, Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry and Soft-Lite Windows were also presented. Attendees responses at this year's conference were very positive. Clients were also given a glimpse into the future direction of Friedman's new software; this provided the attendees with an wealth of information they can use to support their future plans and direction.

During the conference, Friedman announced recipients of the 2005 Customer Appreciation Awards in recognition of clients’ dedication to excellence in using the Friedman ERP system.   The following award recipients were selected for demonstrating significant operational improvements using Friedman’s system. This year's award recipients are:

  • J.T. Ellis & Co., Ltd. - Manufacturer of Contact Furniture, based in the United Kingdom
  • Jordan Company - Manufacturer of Vinyl and Aluminum Windows, headquartered in Memphis, TN
  • Jayco, Inc. - A large manufacturers of recreation vehicles, located in Middlebury, IN.
  • Woodharbor - Producer of doors and cabinetry, located in Mason City, IA.
  • Thermo-Twin Industries - Manufacturer of wood,vinyl and aluminum windows, headquartered in Oakmont, PA.   

Highlights also included details into the new release of Frontier — Frontier 2.2, the eBusiness and PowerBids suite of products, Service Manager, PCM Visualizer, and the first introduction of Frontier MES (Manufacturing Execution System). Further announcements on these exciting software solutions will be made by the start of the fourth quarter .
